Two families have been selected in the first round of ABA World's sponsored autism evaluation program. One family is in Africa. The other is in Central America.

Each family receives a comprehensive evaluation, conducted online, and a written report setting out the clinical findings and recommendations. There is no cost to the family.

The standing rule for this program is one family per round. Two were chosen this time because the panel could not separate them, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend it was the plan. Future rounds will select one family.

What Happens Next

To the Families Who Applied

Every application we read described a child whose family was doing everything they could with what they had. Choosing between them is the hardest part of running this program, and it is not a judgment about which children deserve support. It is a limit on what one small organization can fund at a time.

If you applied and were not selected, please apply again. Nothing about this round counts against you in the next one.

Why This Program Exists

An autism diagnosis opens doors: to school placements, to therapy, to funding, to a family finally understanding what their child needs. In much of the world that door stays shut, because there is no qualified professional within reach, or the waitlist runs past a year, or the cost is simply beyond the family.

Geography and financial circumstances should never decide whether a family can understand their child's needs. This program is one small answer to that, and we intend to grow it.

Apply

Applications are open all year. Families anywhere in the world are welcome to apply, and one family is selected every six months, in February and August.
